Theme License Agreement
Last updated: August 27, 2026
This WennyVisual Theme License Agreement ("License Agreement") governs your use of Shopify themes purchased from WennyVisual Studio ("WennyVisual", "we", "us", or "our").
By purchasing, downloading, installing, activating, or using a WennyVisual theme, you agree to this License Agreement.
If you do not agree with these terms, you must not use the theme.
1. License Grant
When you purchase a WennyVisual Shopify theme, WennyVisual grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the purchased theme on the Shopify store associated with your license.
The license allows you to:
- Install the theme on your authorized Shopify store.
- Customize the theme for your own store.
- Modify Liquid, CSS, JavaScript, and other theme files for your own use.
- Add your own products, content, images, videos, and branding.
- Use the theme commercially for operating your Shopify store.
The license does not transfer ownership of the theme or its underlying intellectual property.
2. One License — One Store
Unless explicitly agreed otherwise by WennyVisual, one theme license is valid for one Shopify store.
A separate license is required for each independent Shopify store.
For example:
Allowed
One license → one authorized Shopify store.
Not allowed
One license → multiple independent Shopify stores.
This applies even if the same theme files are used on multiple stores.
3. License Activation
Some WennyVisual themes use a license activation system to verify authorized use.
During activation, the license may be associated with information such as:
- Shopify store identity
- Shopify store domain
- Purchased product
- License status
- Activation date
This information may be used to verify that the license is being used by the store for which it was purchased.
A valid license may only be activated on an authorized store according to this License Agreement.
4. License Binding
Once a license is activated on a Shopify store, the license may become associated with that store.
A license already activated on one store cannot automatically be used to activate another independent store.
If you need to transfer a license because of a legitimate business reason, contact WennyVisual.
We may review transfer requests individually.
5. Product-Specific Licenses
A license is valid only for the WennyVisual product that was purchased.
For example:
- WennyVisual Core license → Core
- WennyVisual Studio license → Studio
- WennyVisual Premium 2.0 license → Premium 2.0
Purchasing one product does not automatically grant a license to use another WennyVisual product.
Upgrading to another product may require purchasing the applicable upgrade or license.
6. Theme Customization
You are permitted to modify the theme for your authorized store.
You may:
- Change the design.
- Modify sections.
- Modify styles.
- Modify scripts.
- Add custom code.
- Integrate compatible Shopify applications.
- Create custom sections for your store.
- Change or remove WennyVisual branding from the storefront where technically appropriate.
Modifications do not create ownership of the original WennyVisual code or design.
7. Redistribution Prohibited
You may not redistribute the WennyVisual theme to other people or businesses.
This includes:
- Uploading the theme to file-sharing websites.
- Sharing the complete theme ZIP publicly.
- Selling the theme files.
- Giving the theme files to another business.
- Providing the theme as part of another commercial product.
- Publishing the source code as a downloadable product.
- Sharing private download links with unauthorized users.
You may provide access to the theme to developers working on your authorized store when reasonably necessary to perform development work.
You remain responsible for ensuring that the theme is not redistributed outside that purpose.
8. Reselling and Sublicensing
You may not:
- Resell a WennyVisual theme license.
- Sublicense a WennyVisual theme.
- Sell theme files independently.
- Package the theme into another theme marketplace product.
- Offer the theme as a free download.
- Include the theme in a commercial template bundle without written permission.
A theme license grants usage rights to the purchaser and does not create resale rights.
9. Client Websites and Agencies
If you are a freelancer, agency, or developer purchasing a theme for a client, the license must correspond to the client's authorized Shopify store.
The theme may be customized and maintained for that store.
The license may not be reused for another client's store.
For agencies managing multiple client stores, a separate license is generally required for each store unless WennyVisual provides a different written agreement.
10. License Verification
WennyVisual may use technical systems to verify license status and authorized store usage.
These systems may verify information such as:
- License validity
- Purchased product
- Authorized Shopify store
- Activation status
- License status
You agree not to intentionally interfere with, bypass, disable, or circumvent license verification mechanisms.
11. Prohibited License Circumvention
You may not intentionally bypass or defeat licensing mechanisms for the purpose of obtaining unauthorized use of a WennyVisual product.
This includes intentionally:
- Removing or bypassing license verification to use an unlicensed copy.
- Manipulating activation requests.
- Reusing another customer's license.
- Sharing activation credentials.
- Modifying licensing mechanisms to distribute unauthorized copies.
- Creating systems intended to circumvent WennyVisual licensing.
Normal customization of the theme for your own authorized store is permitted.
12. Theme Copies and Backups
You may maintain reasonable backup copies of your purchased theme for your own authorized store.
Backup copies must not be:
- Resold
- Publicly distributed
- Shared with unauthorized stores
- Used to activate additional independent stores
Exporting or backing up a Shopify theme does not create additional licenses.
13. Theme Updates
A license may provide access to updates for the purchased product according to the product offering in effect at the time of purchase.
Updates may include:
- Bug fixes
- Compatibility improvements
- Performance improvements
- Security improvements
- New features
- Design improvements
WennyVisual does not guarantee that every future update will preserve every existing behavior or feature.
14. Product Versions
A license applies to the product and version purchased according to the applicable product offering.
For example, purchasing a particular WennyVisual theme does not automatically grant access to unrelated future products.
Major new products or versions may be offered separately.
15. Intellectual Property
WennyVisual retains all rights, title, and interest in the original theme and its intellectual property.
This includes, where applicable:
- Source code
- Liquid templates
- JavaScript
- CSS
- Theme architecture
- Original design systems
- Animations
- UI components
- Graphics
- Documentation
- WennyVisual branding
- Original theme assets
Your purchase grants you a license to use the product; it does not transfer ownership.
16. Your Content
You retain ownership of content that you add to the theme, including where applicable:
- Product information
- Product images
- Videos
- Logos
- Brand assets
- Marketing copy
- Other original content you provide
You are responsible for ensuring that your content does not infringe the rights of third parties.
17. Third-Party Assets and Services
Some theme functionality may rely on Shopify or third-party technologies.
You are responsible for complying with the terms and licenses applicable to third-party services and assets that you choose to use.
WennyVisual does not grant rights to third-party intellectual property that is not owned by WennyVisual.
18. License Suspension or Termination
WennyVisual may suspend or terminate a license where reasonably necessary if there is a material violation of this License Agreement.
Examples may include:
- Unauthorized redistribution.
- Reselling the theme.
- Unauthorized multi-store use.
- License sharing.
- Fraudulent activation.
- Intentional license circumvention.
- Repeated violations of this License Agreement.
Where appropriate, WennyVisual may attempt to resolve the issue before terminating a license.
Termination does not affect rights that cannot legally be terminated.
19. What Happens After Termination
If a license is terminated because of a material violation, you must stop using the affected WennyVisual theme in unauthorized ways.
You may be required to remove unauthorized copies or installations.
This does not require you to remove your own original store content.
20. Support
Theme support is provided according to the support offering associated with the purchased product.
Support may cover:
- Theme functionality
- Installation
- Configuration
- License activation
- Bugs in the original theme
Support does not automatically include:
- Custom development
- Building an entire custom storefront
- Third-party application development
- Fixing heavily modified code
- Custom integrations
- Shopify account administration
Additional services may be available separately.
21. Refunds
Refunds are governed by the WennyVisual Refund Policy.
Nothing in this License Agreement removes or limits mandatory consumer rights that apply to you under applicable law.
If you experience a technical problem with a purchased theme, please contact: help@wennyvisual.studio
22. No Transfer Without Authorization
A license may not be sold, assigned, or transferred to another person or business without WennyVisual's authorization.
If you sell or transfer the underlying Shopify business, contact WennyVisual regarding the theme license before transferring the store.
We may approve legitimate transfers at our discretion, subject to applicable law.
23. No Guarantee of Business Results
A WennyVisual theme is a design and technology product.
Purchasing or using a theme does not guarantee:
- Sales
- Revenue
- Conversion rates
- Traffic
- Search rankings
- Customer growth
- Business profitability
Business results depend on many factors outside the control of WennyVisual.
24. Changes to This License Agreement
We may update this License Agreement from time to time.
When changes are made, we will update the Last updated date at the top of this document.
Changes will not retroactively remove mandatory rights provided by applicable law.
